Huawei Mate X - world’s fastest 5G foldable phone

Huawei’s foldable phone is here, and it’s called the Mate X.
The tech giant says it’s ready to usher users into the future by “redefining the future of design and technology.”
We never thought this day would come. While other companies are still trying to solve the no-notch, all-display dilemma, a select few are making 2019 the year of the foldable phone.
Once a dream is now becoming a reality here at Mobile World Congress, and Huawei is taking the charge.
The Mate X is first a dual-display smartphone, but at the same time, a tablet. There are three different screen sizes depending on use: front folded 6.6-inch 19.5:9, back folded 6.38-inch 25:9, and 8-inch 8:7.1 tablet. It’s only 5.4mm in thickness.
It’s got an ergonomic curvature — basically a handle for a firm grip while in tablet mode. This is where the new triple Leica camera system resides. The back display acts as a selfie mirror or shows a preview of your portrait when someone else is taking a shot.
The Mate X will be available in only one color: Interstellar Blue. It’s difficult to describe because most the device is all display.
It’ll have 5G connectivity out of the box, be powered by a Kirin 980 processor, and have a 4500mAh battery. On top of this really large battery, Huawei says they’ve improved SuperCharge even further with a 55W charger and it can go from zero to 85 percent in 30 minutes.
That’s it for now. We know you want to see more and so do we, but that’ll have to wait for a later date when we get more hands-on time with the device.
It bears mentioning though that of all the 5G foldable phone announcements made, this is the first time we’ve gotten this close to an actual device.
It’ll retail for EUR 2,299 which comes with 8GB of memory and 512GB of storage, with availability beginning mid-2019.
